I actually know the full truth (from my research: www.hsroadmap.org) and they are not providing it. They are flat-out lying when they say they are not aligned with common core, as there is no need in common core to be grade-based. If you will scroll down here directly on the MUS website - http://www.mathusee.com/parents/faq/ - you will see that they acknowledge that they ARE aligned - and they support CCS. They have been directed since at least 2015 to try to minimize their CCS when people ask about it, but they have not actually removed the common core pages in their books. Brittany mentioned a powder for the fleas. I've discovered that you can eliminate the ants by sprinkling BABY POWDER along the baseboards and other areas where ants get in. When the ants cross over the powder they suffocate. We do it every spring and fall. And it makes the house smell nice, too, for a while! ::giggle::Peggy Blann Phiferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06181446367876764390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1042162628434819445.post-52321320696829511812011-08-14T09:17:28.043-05:002011-08-14T09:17:28.043-05:00Yep. (sometimes I still listen for that little jingle!).

But, Christy, your mom was BORN to be a mother. I knew that from the time we were wee little ones. When we shared a bedroom, her "side" was always neat and tidy, while my side . . .

Marty (we called her Martha up until we lived in Wilson and someone named her Marty--I never did get used to that) always had tons more patience than I did. And she almost always smiled. She was a friend magnet. I never had as many friends as she did.

She was named well. She was the epitome of the Martha of Jesus's friends in Bethany. I was the Mary. Sisters, yet complete opposites.

So, my dear niece, while you're hyper-domestic qualities may be "learned" they are more probably an innate part of your DNA (genes, if you will), through the Tompkins side of the family.

Maybe I'll blog about that! I'll let you know. :)Peggy Blann Phiferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06181446367876764390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1042162628434819445.post-38633825959427154972011-08-14T09:15:41.742-05:002011-08-14T09:15:41.742-05:00Well, well... And I KNOW my mother has too! On the "Ants, fleas, mice...OH MY" note... I have a few words of advice. When I got my first kitten (from Craigslist) she was the size of my hand, cute as a button, and infested with fleas. At that age, you cannot treat them with meds like Frontline or Advantage, so I washed her with Dawn dish soap nearly every day (the vet's advice). And yet... my little apartment got fleas in every square foot...ewwwww! I went crazy too, washing every linen possible, vacuuming, flea bombing, nothing worked! So I did tons of research and learned the habits and life cycles of fleas (not an interesting read, totally grossed me out!). I found out that one of the few treatments that actually works is a powder called "Flea Buster". You can buy it on Amazon for about $40. I used it and it rid my apartment of fleas 100% (after many failed attempts at flea bombs...) Try it and save yourself the stress and hassle! So sorry you've got pesky pests! Love you!Brittany Forellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08745711274757257792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1042162628434819445.post-7488569232391147192011-08-14T00:01:38.691-05:002011-08-14T00:01:38.691-05:00By the time your mother had you (number 5!)and by ...By the time your mother had you (number 5!)and by the time you remember your interractions with her, she had probably learned quite a bit about patience.
